You can pretty much rent anything here…cars, bikes, motorbikes, taxis and even a horse. Taxis are very reasonable….about $.50-.75 cents a minute for 1person or 5 in a car, but we heard you can swing a full day of shopping with a cab driver for approximately $40.

Some sample fares; Laguna de Apoyo to Granada $10 U.S. or Laguna de Apoyo to Managua airport $35-40$ U.S. It’s approximately $25 U.S. a day for a motorbike rental in San Juan del Sur and other local spots.

Car rentals are about $35 U.S. a day. Before leaving for your trip, see if your insurance or credit card covers you abroad. For the even more adventurous, local bus transport is widely available!
