Ometepe 1 Night & 2 Days

With around 260 square kilometres, Ometepe is the biggest Volcanic Island located in a fresh water lake. It hosts 2 volcanoes, one of them is still active and its amazing wildlife will captivate you when you visit it.

Day 1

We leave the house at 5:30 am and drive almost 2 hours to get to San Jorge Port, after that at 7:45 am, we take the ferry for about 1 more hour to get to the island. Once on the island, we eat breakfast at a local restaurant then head to the first reserve.

Charco Verde Natural Reserve:

This reserve is located near the lake and trails around a small lagoon with mystical green water. You will see incredible views of the Concepción Volcano and wildlife such as crocodiles, turtles. monkeys and birds!

Lunch & Relax

Once we finish touring Charco Verde, we check into the hotel and have lunch while admiring the breathtaking view of lake Nicaragua. After lunch we take a short drive to Ojo De Agua, a pure, clean water lagoon that comes deep from the depths of the volcano. It is thought the water will help you gain 20 years of youth after swimming in it!

Day 2

We wake up early in the morning for our kayaking tour at the Istiam River. A three hour tour surrounded by real nature and the beautiful songs of the birds. You will be stunned by this paradise.

After the tour we head back to the hotel, take the ferry around 11 am and head back to San Jorge Port,then we drive to San Juan del Sur in the Pacific Coast. After lunch we will visit one of the highest lookouts in Central America “The Jesus Christ of Mercy Statue”, which is almost 22 meters high and overlooks the bay of San Juan del Sur. After this we drive back to our house in Granada.
